Rostec has sent the first batch of wheeled 152-mm Malva self-propelled guns to the Northern Military District zone, reports Boris Rozhin, an expert at the Center for Military-Political Journalism.

“In the summer, the howitzer was put into service and already in mid-autumn it went to the front. Now the task is to produce and increase the supply of these vehicles to the front in commercial quantities,” the report notes.

2S43 “Malva” is a Russian 152-mm interspecific artillery system on the chassis of the BAZ-6610-027 “Voshchina” all-wheel drive vehicle with an 8*8 wheel arrangement produced by the Bryansk Automobile Plant. The main innovation of the 2S43 project is the use of a wheeled chassis, thanks to which, with the same weapons and combat capabilities, the 2S43 product is significantly lighter and more mobile than the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled guns, and is also cheaper to operate.
