Dagestan welterweight fighter Rustam Khabilov was out of luck again. His fight with American Jalil Willis, which was supposed to take place this week at the Bellator 293 tournament, was canceled shortly before the weigh-in.
The 36-year-old Dagestani was due to make his Bellator debut back in 2021, but pulled out of the fight with Andrey Koreshkov due to the coronavirus. And in 2022, a fight with Lewis Long was supposed to take place, who for unknown reasons refused to fight.
Khabilov had his last fight in November 2019 under the UFC banner.
The reason for the cancellation of the fight with Willis was called by Rustam himself: “And again due to bureaucratic problems. I apologize to all those who were waiting for this fight, were sick and worried.”
