The Federation of Journalists IFJ called on the Israeli authorities to stop the “massacre” of media workers

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), along with 70 other international journalist associations, called on Israel to take measures to protect and ensure the safety of journalists in the conflict zone. The statement demands to “stop the unprecedented massacre” against media workers.
The signatories asked the Israeli government to take concrete measures, in accordance with international law, to protect the lives of journalists covering the war in Gaza. The statement said that “more than one media worker has been killed every day since the war began” in what it called an “unprecedented massacre.”
“This is simply unacceptable,” the appeal emphasizes. “And the Israeli government will have to take full responsibility.”
The International Committee to Protect Journalists reported in late October that at least 31 journalists had died as the conflict escalated.
