The Federation Council unanimously approved the federal budget for 2024–2026 – Kommersant

During a plenary meeting, the Federation Council approved the law on the federal budget for 2024 and the planning period 2025–2026. The decision was made unanimously, the law was supported by 154 senators.
The financial plan for the next year differs from all previous ones in the sharp increase in both income and expenses. It is expected that next year federal budget revenues will grow by 22.3% – from 28.67 trillion to 35.06 trillion rubles. Expenses will increase by 15.8% and exceed revenues by 1.6 trillion rubles. The 2024 budget provides for military spending to increase 1.7 times compared to the current year and reach 25% of all spending.
According to the law, federal budget revenues in 2024 will amount to 35 trillion rubles. (19.5% of GDP), in 2025 – 33.5 trillion rubles. (17.6% of GDP), in 2026 – 34 trillion rubles. (16.8% of GDP). Of these, the projected volume of oil and gas revenues is planned at 1.8 trillion rubles. (1% of GDP).
It is envisaged that federal budget expenditures will amount to 36.7 trillion rubles. (20.4% of GDP) in 2024, 34.4 trillion (18% of GDP) in 2025 and 35.6 trillion rubles. (17.6% of GDP) in 2026. The budget deficit in 2024 will be at the level of 1.6 trillion rubles. (0.9% of GDP), in 2025 – 830.5 billion rubles. (0.4% of GDP), in 2026 – 1.5 trillion rubles. (0.8% of GDP).
