The Federation Council approved a law according to which foreign citizens who have entered into a contract with the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia for a period of at least one year can apply for citizenship in the absence of a residence permit (residence permit). The law goes to the signature of the country’s President Vladimir Putin.
The changes in the law provide that the first contract for military service in the Russian army can be concluded with foreign citizens for one year, and not for five years, as was the case before. Also, the amendments will allow foreign citizens to apply for the acquisition of Russian citizenship without continuous residence in the country for five years, as well as without providing a residence permit.
Yesterday, September 20, the Moscow government announced on the creation of infrastructure to assist the Ministry of Defense in sending foreign citizens to military service in Russia. She will be placed in the Sakharovo migration center. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in the Russian Federation today has already warned the citizens of the country against participating in hostilities abroad.
