The Federal Penitentiary Service began an investigation after reports of ill-treatment of prisoners in the Kuzbass colony

Yevgeny Romanov, deputy head of the main department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Kuzbass, left for a strict regime correctional colony in Yurga, Kemerovo Region (IK-41). This was reported in the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service to the portal ngs42.ru. Earlier, on Telegram channels, on behalf of the relatives of the convicts, reports began to appear that the prisoners were allegedly beaten with sticks, forced to bark and crawl on all fours.

“In a number of telegram channels and social networks, information has been published about the allegedly illegal actions of the GUFSIN employees in relation to convicts from IK-41. According to these facts, the GUFSIN of Russia in the Kemerovo region is conducting an audit. Evgeny Romanov, deputy head of the Kuzbass GUFSIN, left for IK-41,” the press service said.

The press service of the department also clarified that now the colony is operating normally.

July 6 Telegram channel Tayga, referring to the relatives of the convicts from IK-41, said that violence was used against the prisoners.
