The Federal Customs Service named Russia’s main source of income after oil and gas exports

Selling food abroad is becoming the country’s key source of income after oil and gas exports. About it reported RIA Novosti Acting Head of the Federal Customs Service Ruslan Davydov.
“Food export is becoming the main source of income for the federal budget after oil and gas. <...> Our agricultural exports are growing well. The President spoke about this – we have practically exceeded the grain export targets compared to last year. We mainly export grains now, this is the lion’s share. Also – oilseeds, butter, vegetable oil, sunflower,” Davydov said.
The official also named the main buyers of Russian grain – the countries of the Middle East, Egypt, Kazakhstan and China. The markets of these states are already traditional for Russia, added the acting head of the Federal Customs Service.
According to him, the growth in exports of agricultural products currently reaches approximately 70% “in weight terms”, and in value terms it is “less due to the price situation.”
Chairman of the Board of the Union of Grain Exporters Eduard Zernin previously stated that the key buyers of Russian wheat in the new agricultural year were the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. In the first two months of the season, the total volume of product exports exceeded 9 million tons.
