food exports become the third largest source of income for the Russian Federation – Kommersant

Food exports are becoming the main source of income for the Russian federal budget after oil and gas, said acting head of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) Ruslan Davydov. According to him, the country has almost exceeded the grain export targets relative to 2022.

As Mr. Davydov clarified, the main buyers of Russian grain are China, the Middle East, Egypt and Kazakhstan. “We mainly export grains now. This is the lion's share. Also oilseeds, oil, vegetable oil, sunflower,” said the acting head of the Federal Customs Service in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He claims that the growth in exports of agricultural products reached about 70% in weight terms, but less in value terms, because it “depends on the price situation.” He did not name the exact amount.

Oil and gas industry remains key for the Russian economy - it accounts for significant budget revenues, and resource prices affect the value of currencies. According to Kommersant, in September Russia increased seaborne oil exports, which reached 3.34 million barrels per day - this is more than in July and August, but still less than in June.

Details - in the material "Kommersant" “Barrels are counting in the fall”.
