Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, at a meeting with the commanders of Chechen units in Gudermes, said that Russia now faces difficult tasks, the fate of the country is being decided. According to him, during the fighting, the Russian army has changed significantly, in particular, they began to pay more attention to the production of drones.

“Our country faces very difficult tasks; ultimately, no matter how pathetic or pretentious it may sound, today the fate of our country is being decided. You and I clearly see, you, as military personnel in particular, feel it well, that the war has changed, and our army has changed. “Everything is changing,” said Dmitry Medvedev (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council noted that the technological transformation that has occurred in the world has led to a change in war. He pointed out that at the beginning of the military operation, Russia was far behind in the production of drones, but has recently increased it significantly. “There was an understanding that this war would follow the classical canons of military operations of past years. But it turned out – no. The world has changed, technology has changed. Recently, we have quite significantly adjusted production, increased the production of drones of various levels, because, let’s face it, before the Northern Military District we were far from the most advanced country in this area, we lagged very far behind in this component,” he added.

Summing up the results of last year, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu statedthat enterprises of the defense-industrial complex (DIC) managed to multiply the production of the most popular types of military equipment and weapons. Many enterprises, he said, have switched to round-the-clock operation. In particular, according to Deputy Minister of Defense Alexei Krivoruchko, in 2023 the defense industry put aerospace forces 3.5 thousand drones.
