After the retreat from Avdeevka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine gained a foothold on new lines of defense, Alexander Tarnavsky, commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group of troops, said in his telegram channel.
New positions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Avdeevsky direction are located in the area of the settlements of Novobakhmutovka, Lastochkino and Pervomaiskoe, he shared the details. According to Tarnavsky, 26 air strikes and 803 artillery shelling were carried out on Tavriya positions.
On February 17, it became known that the Russian Armed Forces were able to completely take control of Avdievka in the DPR. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that only some scattered formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to hastily leave the populated area under fire from the Russian army.
