Conveying a life-sentenced prisoner to the Black Dolphin was declared illegal
Bandit Mikhail Zakharin, sentenced to life imprisonment, was able to prove that he was illegally transferred to the harshest colony for “death row” – “Black Dolphin”. The Zamoskvoretsky court of the capital ruled in his favor.
Mikhail Zakharin was a member of the criminal group of Mikhail Skripnik, the so-called fraternal organized crime group, operating in Siberia in the mid-2000s. They brutally dealt with their competitors, sparing no ammunition or people. So, on December 14, 2002, in the center of Irkutsk, mafiosi shot 8 (!) people, including two women and a teenager who accidentally found themselves in the shelling zone. 22-year-old (at that time) Zakharin took an active part in that action. As a result, he was sentenced to capital punishment and placed in the Polar Owl colony in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. However, his mother, with whom the killer was very close, asked to transfer the convict to a colony in the Khabarovsk Territory. Going there on a date was much closer to her than going to the Arctic Circle. Through the court, she managed to achieve the resettlement of her son: Zakharin was placed for some time in a new colony for life prisoners “Snezhinka”. However, not so long ago the killer went on a journey again – he was transferred to the Black Dolphin colony, located in the Orenburg region. The prisoner himself believes that this is a kind of revenge on the part of the jailers. While already in prison, Zakharin wrote a book in which he spoke, in particular, about the torture to which he was subjected. Perhaps, having placed the “lifer” in the most difficult colony in terms of conditions of detention, officials of the prison department decided to teach him a lesson in this way.
However, Zakharin again turned to Themis. He reasonably noted that the court had already made a decision once about where he should serve his life sentence. Therefore, the transfer of the killer to the Black Dolphin was declared illegal. However, most likely, the FSIN will appeal this decision.
