The expert explained why you shouldn’t use voice messages too often
Currently, cyber fraudsters are actively using other people’s audio messages to create fake messages using artificial intelligence and use them to extort money, expert Vahe Zakarian told the agency.
He noted that scammers can hack other people’s accounts in instant messengers and social networks, and using neural networks they can convert voice messages in them, for example, into requests for help, and then send them to the victim’s relatives and friends.
Fraudsters can also use other data, such as passports and bank cards.
“Fraudsters manage to achieve their goals thanks to the novelty of the technology,” the expert said.
Zakarian also noted that you should not completely abandon voice messages, and you just need to avoid transmitting significant information with their help, and delete them over time. Then scammers will not have the material to create fake audio messages, the expert noted.
