The WhatsApp messenger will stop working on a number of smartphones with an outdated operating system by the end of this month, said Vadim Tkachenko, founder and CEO of the vvCube consulting group.
In a comment to the Prime agency, Tkachenko noted that using the messenger will become impossible on Apple products that used iOS 10 and 11. To continue using the application, the operating system will need to be updated to at least iOS 12.
At the same time, on a number of very old devices, such as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C, the application will never work, since updates for these models have not been released.
According to Tkachenko, in the future, as Apple devices become obsolete, the gradual shutdown of WhatsApp will continue.
