The expert told what breed is better to choose a novice dog breeder

President of the Russian Cynological Federation (RKF) Vladimir Golubev told which breed is better for a beginner dog breeder.

According to him, it will be easier to choose the breed of a future pet if you understand why it will be needed – for walking or staying at home, and also whether the dog will take part in exhibitions.

Golubev said that for beginners, it is better to choose small, unpretentious, but friendly and easy-to-train dogs.

The first “candidate” – poodles. They are smart, contact, obey the owner and quickly remember commands, rarely show aggression, and for the most part active and cheerful.

You should also pay attention to the King Charles Spaniel breed. They do not rush other dogs, do not try to dominate, because they do not have leadership qualities, but they love communication with the owner and do not avoid annoying hugs.

No. 3 in the list of breeds proposed by Golubev is the Russian colored lapdog, which was originally bred for keeping at home. Its advantages are easy upbringing and management, unwillingness to compete and dominate, calm behavior in public places.

Golubev also suggested taking a closer look at corgis. “Amazingly intelligent and cheerful dogs that are devoted to their owner. Dogs of this breed almost completely lack aggressiveness in behavior,” the expert said, noting the high trainability of this breed.

The list closes the Brussels Griffon – a breed of dogs that rarely give a voice for no reason, mentally stable, good-natured and active. They also love close contact and play, and are quick learners.

“Choosing a dog is a very responsible and exciting event. It should be taken as seriously and deliberately as possible,” Golubev recalled. He also urged not to focus on the appearance of the pet when choosing a breed.
