With the help of cold, an unscrupulous seller can disguise low-quality wine from the client, said Artur Sargsyan, head of the expert group of the Wine Guide of Russia.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, he noted that the same drink at different temperatures (supercooled, normal temperature and warm) will have 3 different tastes.

“The cold hides the aroma, in the taste you feel only a slight sourness. Thus, in a cafe somewhere in the south of Europe or in Russian bars, the flaws of wine are often “hidden,” he said.

He recommended choosing the right temperature regime should be observed when serving any wine, according to the principle: simpler wine – lower temperature. At the same time, high-quality champagne can be served at a normal temperature, and it is better to cool a simple red wine. Light red wine should be served at a temperature of 12-16 degrees, white wines – 10-11 degrees, sparkling wines – 7-8 degrees, collectible champagne – 12-13 degrees, the expert said.
