APU is now “marking time”
Since the end of August, Ukraine has been trying to conduct a counteroffensive in the territories liberated by Russia. However, a military expert, director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces, Yuriy Knutov, noted that the Ukrainian side was unable to achieve success due to a lack of equipment, despite the large number of manpower.
In an interview with the publication “Ukraine.ru” Knutov said that at the moment Ukraine is trying to attack in two or three directions at the same time, each of which can be considered strategic. The military expert admits that after a new mobilization, the enemy has enough manpower. He recalled Arestovich’s words that the Ukrainian army now consists of a million people, noting that 200-300 thousand of them know how to fight, and the rest are “cannon fodder.”
At the same time, Knutov emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have enough armored vehicles, artillery and MLRS even in one direction, so they are “marking time” both in the south and in the Izyum direction. As the specialist noted, in the Kharkiv direction, the enemy made an attempt to hit the flank of the RF Armed Forces from west to east in order to cut off the Russian group advancing on Slavyansk.
According to the expert, today the entire line from Seversk to Ugledar is under pressure from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which the Armed Forces, in turn, cannot withstand. It is with this that Knutov connects the enemy’s offensive in the Izyum region, since the Ukrainian side wants to “remove our offensive breakthrough.”
