Russian Ambassador to Canada called absurd calls to keep turbines for Nord Stream

The calls of the “Canadian Ukrainian Congress” (a public organization uniting political, public, cultural organizations of Ukrainians in Canada, included in the list of undesirable organizations by the Ministry of Justice) to the authorities of the country to expel Russian diplomats and keep the turbines for the Nord Stream are absurd and contrary to the interests of Canadians, report RIA Novosti with reference to the Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov.
The diplomat called the heads of Congress “descendants of Nazi henchmen” who are trying to “privatize Canadian foreign policy” and direct it into an “irrational direction.” Stepanov noted that “there is no logic” in the organization’s slogans. “Just blind hatred for everything Russian. Here the field for work is no longer diplomats, but specialists in the field of psychiatry,” the Russian ambassador added.
At the same time, Stepanov noted that the embassy and two consulates general of Russia will continue to analyze Canada’s foreign and domestic policy and maintain bilateral intergovernmental communication channels.
Last week “Gazprom” reported that the last gas compressor turbine, which was shut down for preventive maintenance on August 31, will not resume operation on September 2 due to malfunctions. After that, gas pumping through the Nord Stream was completely stopped. Russian President Vladimir Putin within WEF said that Russia is ready “tomorrow” to resume the operation of Nord Stream 2 and the supply of gas to Europe, but Western sanctions prevent it from doing so.
