The head of the analytical department of the BKF Bank, Maxim Osadchy, explained how US policy will change after the elections held on Tuesday, during which, according to the latest data, the Republicans receive a majority in the House of Representatives.
“The victory of the Reds (red is the color of the Republicans) may mean a weakening of the Biden administration,” the expert noted, adding that in this way the White House will lose room for maneuver. The Biden administration, the analyst says, instead of enforcing its own policies, will have to spend significant forces fighting in Congress.
Under such conditions, Osadchy believes, the focus of American policy will shift from interventionism to isolationism, as domestic problems, such as rising inflation and crime, will come to the fore.
“This means that US spending on support for Ukraine can be reduced,” the expert emphasizes. He also admitted that the growth of US budget spending will be reduced, which will lead to a decrease in public debt and a stronger dollar.
