The reason for the ignition of the smartphone may be its improper operation, Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

Most often, a fire occurs when the battery shell is damaged. Frequent falls of the smartphone can lead to this, Murtazin said. Another reason may be charging the gadget through a “foreign” or low-quality charger.
In addition, when the smartphone is in the sun, its battery may also fail.

“This device cannot be used. This is dangerous, at any moment the smartphone can flare up and burn badly, ”the expert noted.
At the same time, he noted that the ignition of smartphones does not occur so often, mainly when the gadget falls into the water with a destroyed battery shell. More often than not, the battery just starts to smoke.
Murtazin recalled that the smartphone battery is a consumable item and needs to be changed every two to three years. The need to change the battery is indicated by a decrease in charge capacity, he said.
