The expert called the threat to the Russian Federation from a new strain of covid with a mortality rate of 80%

The United States is capable of causing an artificial pandemic in Russia. So says the president of the Kurchatov Institute, Mikhail Kovalchuk, who said at the Finopolis forum that the Americans created a strain of coronavirus with a lethality of 90%. The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed that the United States has spent more than $200 million on the operation of biological laboratories in Ukraine. Igor Nikulin, a former member of the UN Commission on Biological and Chemical Weapons, told MK about the threats associated with new strains of covid.

– Now few people doubt the laboratory origin of COVID-19. Is it possible to breed a strain of coronavirus with a high lethality in the laboratory?

– American scientists have already bred at Boston University a strain of coronavirus with a lethality of about 80%. They tested the effect of the virus on humanized mice (specially bred mice with human genes. – “MK”), since COVID-19 does not work on ordinary laboratory mice.

This is not some other virus, but a deadly mutation of the well-known SARS-CoV-2, after infection with which in four out of five cases a person will die. In the last three years alone, dozens of variations of the coronavirus have appeared as a result of the process of creating biological weapons by American scientists. This is what 400 American biolaboratories around the world are doing.

Especially scary is the fact that a strain of coronavirus with a high lethality may spread at the same rate as it did in 2020 and 2021. As far as I know, the Boston University Infectious Diseases Laboratory has paired the Wuhan COVID-19 with Omicron.

– How vulnerable is Russia to biological weapons of this kind?

– Unfortunately, after the optimization in healthcare, Russia has become practically defenseless. A huge gap has been made in our biosecurity: it will be very difficult to check if a foreigner who has arrived in Russia has a spray can with a highly lethal coronavirus strain in his bag. The Chinese have repeatedly caught on their territory a batch of seafood infected with a coronavirus. And in seafood, let me remind you, the coronavirus does not live.

– How can you protect yourself from man-made viruses?

– The only way to prevent the spread of an artificially bred virus today is the foreign intelligence services. But for their work, they need clear and accurate information about a particular citizen, without which they will not be able to identify and stop the threat in time. Otherwise, we risk becoming victims of the next coronavirus epidemic with even more victims.

Ten years ago, there were 200,000 infectious boxes in Russia. Let me remind you that they do not let anyone in except for patients and medical personnel. In 2022, their number has decreased four times – from 45 to 50 thousand.

The fact is that before, any suspicious patient with an unknown disease was immediately placed in an infectious box. In the 1960s and 1970s, after the influenza epidemic in Moscow alone, more than 200,000 people applied for medical help on a single day. All were placed in infectious boxes, they were calmly cured, and there were practically no negative consequences.

Since then, hundreds of infectious diseases hospitals and dozens of virological institutes have been liquidated, leaving Russia highly vulnerable to biological weapons. Of course, over the past three years, Russian medicine has felt more confident, but what has been done is clearly not enough to fight the viruses artificially bred by the Americans.

The only thing I can offer to protect against a coronavirus with a high lethality is to restore what can still be restored. I am talking about the construction and equipment of infectious boxes according to Soviet SanPiNs with a separate entrance, bathroom, sanitary checkpoint and separate ventilation, which can prevent the spread of the virus in our country.
