The expert spoke about the possibilities of Runet to work without the global network

On January 30, Russia experienced a massive Internet outage due to a technical problem with the global DNSSEC infrastructure. Internet Ombudsman Dmitry Marinichev in conversation with the publication aif.ru appreciated the ability of Runet to work without the global network.

According to the expert, in the event of a complete shutdown of the global Internet, Runet will continue to exist. Despite the fact that the user will not be able to access foreign resources, Russian services will work completely self-sufficiently.

Marinichev also explained that failures in RuNet often occur on servers located in Russia. We are talking about DDoS attacks that are carried out on domestic servers from abroad.

He noted that if a failure occurs in the USA or South Africa, this could also affect Russia. But not globally. This is due to the fact that many services in Russia are used with authorization in Google.
