Expert Andrey Patrakov suggested that the new safety recommendations sent to pilots by the Federal Air Transport Agency will not quite be able to directly fulfill the task for which they were prepared, reports radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
The recommendations came after an incident involving an emergency landing of an Airbus A320 aircraft in a field.
All possible emergency situations, including lack of fuel, extended landing gear or inoperative flaps, must be worked out by pilots as part of their training in simulators, Patrakov said. Thus, airlines must actually train pilots.
According to the expert, the Federal Air Transport Agency indicates the need to study the section due to which the error occurred, which indicates a “systemic problem in pilot training.” He also said that flight automation is turning pilots into “more of an autopilot operator.”
