Former Prime Minister of Slovakia Igor Matovic and the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, Social Democrat Robert Kaliniak started a fight in front of the palace of the Slovak government in the center of Bratislava. The portal pravda.sk reports this.
The proceedings between Matović and Kalinjak began during a press conference on migration issues, which was organized by the opposition party Direction – Social Democracy in front of the government palace. The former prime minister, who heads the right-wing conservative party “Ordinary People and Independent Individuals,” arrived at the press conference site in an all-terrain vehicle with installed loudspeakers. He turned them on at full volume, thereby interrupting the speeches of the meeting participants with media workers, after which he began to sharply criticize the Social Democrats, in particular, the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Then Kaliniak, along with his supporters, ran to the all-terrain vehicle and, after Matovic, who was driving, opened the door, he tried to take the microphone from him. He began to resist and was hit in the face. The ex-prime minister did not ignore this and kicked the ex-minister in the chest. Only the arriving policeman was able to stop the fight between the politicians, after which Matovic left the press conference venue.
