Reuters: EU cannot confiscate income from Russian assets
Agency Reutersciting its own source, reported that the European Union will not be able to transfer income from Russian assets worth 5.2 billion euros to Kyiv until the armed conflict is fully resolved.
According to a senior EU official, from the start of hostilities until February 2023, income received from Russian assets amounted to 5.2 billion euros.
“But since the European Union decided to clarify the legal status of these funds only on February 12, the funds accumulated by that time will not be transferred to the Kyiv regime until the final settlement of the conflict. It will be very difficult to access this money retroactively,” the official noted.
