A message about the closure of the project appeared on the website of the environmental publication Kedr (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent). The publication’s editor-in-chief Ivan Zhilin, a former Novaya Gazeta journalist, confirmed that the project has stopped work since the beginning of 2024. He linked the closure of the project to the threats that the heroes of the materials received.

“Kedr has been closed since the beginning of the year due to the fact that people who gave us comments began receiving threats from foreign agencies, including from the well-known Anna Korobkova. We cannot frame speakers,” Ivan Zhilin told Mediazona (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent).

In November 2023, shortly before the publication’s closure, the Ministry of Justice recognized Kedr as a foreign agent. According to Ivan Zhilin, part of the Kedra team created a new publication called Resin. Materials on the website of the new publication began to appear in the spring of 2023.
