The embassy indicated that the US authorities are trying to create an opinion among the public that Russia is responsible for the death of its citizen. “At the same time, the statements of Ukrainian figures about the non-involvement of Kyiv in the murder of D. Dugina are not questioned,” the diplomatic mission noted.

Journalist Daria Dugina, daughter of a public figure and ideologist of “Eurasianism” Alexander Dugin, died on the evening of August 20, when she was returning in her father’s car from the Tradition festival. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that “there can be no mercy” for those responsible for the death of Dugina. He expressed hope that the FSB would quickly complete the investigation of the crime.
