President Vladimir Putin said that Russia’s elite needs to be formed from participants in the military operation. In his opinion, there is no need to make those who “expose their genitals” into elites.

Mr. Putin, at a meeting on the development of St. Petersburg, said that he met with students who interrupted their studies and went on a military operation. “It is from these people that we must form the country’s elite in the future. Not the kind that, excuse me, exposes your genitals or shows your butt. Such weirdos are also needed, let them be. But the real elite of the country, into whose hands Russia can be transferred, must be formed from these people,” said Mr. Putin (broadcast by Rossiya 24).

The President believes that the “logic of financial institutions” should not work when providing benefits to participants in a military operation, because “the guys go to war, risk their lives and health, some do not return from the war.” “A different logic must work here. Probably, the president’s words about those who “expose their genitals or show their butts” were a reaction to a party with an almost naked dress code, which was organized by TV presenter Anastasia Ivleeva in December at the Mutabor club. The event caused a public outcry and led to the fact that advertisers and media companies stopped cooperating with the stars who took part in it.
