But Muslim tourists have an undeniable plus: they do not drink alcohol and, accordingly, do not act outrageous in unconsciousness – they do not climb drunk to swim at night or in the very sun and do not start to drown. I have never had to rescue Arabs from the water, although, of course, this is also because not all of them swim at all. But even on land, for a sober state, hotel employees are ready to forgive the guest for other shortcomings, because dealing with a drunken brawler is the hardest part of our work. For this, even non-Muslims are specially hired: for a faithful believer to observe such a sin, it is even to observe, let alone come into contact.

The “bronze” of dislike of the citizens of the Land of the Pharaohs, dealing with foreign tourists, was received by you and me – guests from the Russian Federation. With the wording “they rage in hotels, on the beaches and go on excursions in a cheerful state, which sometimes leads to disastrous consequences.” Russian ladies are mentioned separately, allowing themselves to appear drunk even outside the hotel, on the streets of Egyptian cities.

– There is such a thing, – admits our compatriot, who permanently lives in Cairo, and during the high season works as a bartender at the resort. – That’s why they hire me in a hotel where there are most Russians, although in Egypt it is not customary for a woman to be a bartender. But the locals don’t know how to deal with ours if they’ve gone overboard. And I know. And I even know how not to let them sort it out. A Russian person, on the other hand, often just needs to speak out in order to be listened to. And he stupidly gets drunk if no one listens to him. And I’m listening. And it happens that the guest is so carried away by his own story that he even forgets to take a drink. Everyone comes here from Russia exhausted, especially psychologically, it can be seen with the naked eye. – Yes, the Germans are demanding, – agrees the administrator of one of the best hotels in Hurghada, a native Egyptian. – But they are very disciplined, punctual, clean, they are easy to organize, convince and gather in a group, which cannot be said about guests from other countries. German tourists are not late for group trips, do not delay a full bus, do not remember already on the go that they forgot their room key, do not get lost on excursions. They may not be the most pleasant to talk to, but definitely not force majeure – our particular hotel never had any problems from the Germans.

And, finally, “gold” due to hostility from the citizens of the Land of the Pyramids was won by tourists from Poland. It seems that they combine all the above-described “virtues” – they drink without drying out, fall asleep in the sun or climb into the sea in a deranged state, they are late, they are rude, while they treat others condescendingly and constantly find fault with how they are served.

“Alas, I have seen more than once how guests from Poland behave unceremoniously at the buffet, climb out of line, even push others away,” the head waiter of a restaurant in a hotel popular with Poles comments on the “champions”. But I also observed something else. Once at breakfast, a large family of tourists – it seems they were from Algeria – told everyone that at night their old grandmother, who lived there alone, disappeared from the room. They asked very much if someone suddenly meets her on the territory of the hotel, take her to the reception. Apparently, the elderly lady suffered from sclerosis: her relatives were afraid that she would not find her way back to the hotel. The hotel administrator tried to convince the police that the search for the grandmother should begin immediately, and the hotel guests who had breakfast did not even really understand anything yet. And only tourists from Poland immediately gathered a rescue team from their own, armed themselves with a photo of their grandmother and immediately set off in search. And if not for them, there could be trouble: the Poles found the old woman unconscious and knee-deep in the sea.
