The EEC Council extended the deadline for issuing a copy of the certificate of origin of goods

During the meeting, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) decided to extend the deadline for providing electronic and paper copies of the certificate until the end of 2025. We are talking about a document on the origin of goods when applying for tariff preferences under free trade agreements. The measure expired on December 31 of this year.

“This measure is aimed at simplifying the clearance of goods and minimizing the negative consequences associated with the difficulty of sending original certificates of origin of goods on paper,” the message says press service Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy Dmitry Volvach said at the meeting that since the introduction of the measure in Russia, about 7 thousand declarations for goods have been filed, and the amount of preferences provided amounted to more than 450 million rubles. In total, about 300 importers took advantage of the measure.

During the meeting, the EEC also decided to change the rules for registration and examination of medicines for medical use. In particular, it is planned to change the rules for issuing perpetual certificates for medicines registered for more than five years, as well as reduce the requirements for the volume of documents provided.
