The European Commission refused to apologize to Kyiv after the publication of data on one hundred thousand dead Ukrainian soldiers. This was stated by the official representative of the EC Dana Spinant during a press conference.
Spinant stressed that there is no need for an apology, as the EC, she said, explained the context and reasons for the loss report.
“We are achieving common goals with Ukraine, including in matters of investigation of the crimes of this aggression and their prosecution,” Spinant said.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, published a statement that Ukraine had lost 100,000 military personnel and 20,000 civilians during the hostilities. Later, the fragment about the losses of the Ukrainian side was removed from both the written statement and the video statement by von der Leyen.
