The Duma said the problem with the celebration of Halloween was “made up from thin air”

In Russia, according to State Duma deputy Vladimir Burmatov, there is no need to introduce federal bans on Halloween, since this celebration is not of a mass nature. Burmatov believes that the country is facing more serious problems, and paying attention to Halloween is inappropriate, writes “Gazeta.Ru”.

“I believe that this problem does not exist at all, and the topic is completely sucked out of thin air. These conversations draw more attention to this holiday, which is not a holiday for us. If in some school the parent committee decided to hold this event in some class, then ban it or not, they will still hold it. But this is not the case en masse,” he said.

Burmatov believes that while some people may celebrate extravagant and strange holidays, most stick to traditional Russian ones, such as Victory Day, Russia Day, Flag Day and National Unity Day. He believes that Halloween, in comparison with these holidays, is not worth attention. The problem with Halloween bans, he said, only exists on the pages of the media.

Earlier it became known that in Yakutia, schools were officially banned from celebrating Halloween; a corresponding decree was signed.
