A bill was submitted to the State Duma giving women the right to spend maternity capital on education
The press service of the vice-speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Liberal Democratic Party, Boris Chernyshov, reported that the deputy submitted a bill to the parliament, according to which it is proposed to give women the right to spend maternity capital on education.
The author of the initiative proposes to supplement the law “On Additional Measures of State Support for Families with Children” with a new norm, according to which a woman will be able to direct mother capital funds in full or in part to receive her education. In addition, the bill proposes to allow these funds to be used to pay for educational services in non-state educational institutions that have received the appropriate license.
In a publication on his Telegram channel, Chernyshov noted that the allocation of mother’s capital to educate mothers is a profitable and reliable investment that will pay off many times over in the future. He stressed that this is a chance to improve the social status of a woman and give her more confidence in the future. The parliamentarian added that the legislative initiative will create favorable conditions for increasing the birth rate in the Russian Federation, as well as improve the position of women in the labor market.
