On April 14, the draw for the forthcoming V International Children and Youth Football Tournament for the Lev Burchalkin Cup took place in St. Petersburg. According to the results of the draw, the tournament table of the first game day was formed.
So, the first football match will be played by Sepahan and Almaz-Antey, after the fight will continue FC Krasnodar-Crvena Zvezda, FC Zenit-Santos, CSKA-Palmeiras.
The draw ceremony was attended by the chief referee of the tournament Ivan Abrosimov, President of the Football Federation of St. Petersburg Elena Ilyukhina and Deputy General Director of the Concern VKO Almaz-Antey – General Director of the Obukhov Plant, President of FC Almaz-Antey Mikhail Podvyaznikov, as well as young pupils of the football club ” Diamond – Antey.
In 2023, the fight for the Cup will take place from 19 to 21 May. The sports event will be attended by football players no older than 13 years old, as well as athletes from famous football clubs of the world and Russia: Red Star – Serbia, CSKA, Santos – Brazil, Sepahan – Iran and Palmeiras – Brazil.
“We are very pleased that such teams will take part in the tournament this year,” – said Mikhail Podvyaznikov.
Also, according to the Deputy General Director of the Concern VKO Almaz-Antey, for the company the tournament is a significant event, a contribution to the development of the youth international football movement.
“I am very happy about the upcoming event, because children from other countries and even continents come to St. Petersburg for the tournament – it’s great”– shared Elena Ilyukhina.
Traditionally, the International Tournament for the Burchalkin Cup will be held at the Almaz-Antey football stadium, which is located on the territory of the Almaz-Antey sports complex in St. Petersburg on Obukhovskaya Oborona Avenue.
It is reported that in 2023 the football tournament is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Obukhov plant, which on May 16 will turn exactly 160 years old and the 320th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
