Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine can be called an operation to save millions of residents of Donbass, said Volodymyr Bidyovka, chairman of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic, TASS reports.
“We never had any illusions about the attitude of Ukraine and its Western allies towards us,” the agency quotes a fragment of an interview with Bidyovka, “but when we discovered those documents that proved that Ukraine was preparing its attack, and the NVO, in fact, ahead of these plans by several days”, then now, according to him, “we can safely say that the SVO should be regarded as an operation to save millions of residents of Donbass.”
Bidyovka admitted that now, due to the ongoing shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including in the center of Donetsk, the civilian population is suffering first of all. He noted that it is scary to imagine what Ukraine and its allies would do if the Ukrainian security forces captured any settlements of the DPR.
Also, the chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR said that when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the NWO on February 24 last year, everyone had a “double feeling.”
Bidyovko explained what he felt then: “You know, when you expect something, but when it happens, it becomes a surprise.”
According to him, not only he, but also “all the inhabitants of the republic understood that sooner or later this should result in something, but no one knew the dates and times.”
