A big belly is a harbinger of serious illnesses, the well-known doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov said on the air of the program “About the Most Important” on the Russia 1 TV channel.
He noted that in general, the stomach can be considered an indicator of human health.
“Waist size is a predictive sign of imminent diseases, such as heart attack, stroke, and even oncology,” he said. At the same time, Myasnikov noted that the growth of the abdomen is associated, among other things, with age, and urged to monitor their shape from a young age.
He also called the optimal waist size – no more than 102 cm for men and 88 cm for women. To control the volume of the waist, he urged, first of all, to exclude alcohol and fast food, and also to monitor the calorie content of the diet (for men 2200 kilocalories per day, for women – 1800 kilocalories per day).
He also advised people with a large belly to watch their posture and try not to carry all of his weight on his back while walking, arching and sticking his stomach forward.
