Doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov shared advice on the Rossiya-1 TV channel on how to properly treat a runny nose.
The doctor emphasized that during the season of exacerbation of colds, about half of people experience a runny nose. Moreover, in the overwhelming majority of cases, the occurrence of a runny nose is provoked by a virus.
Myasnikov noted that for the most part the body overcomes a runny nose on its own, but if this does not happen, then warming up will help. However, if a purulent process has begun, then it is better not to use this procedure.
The doctor also said that if you have a runny nose, rinsing your nose with sea water or saline will help. However, he did not recommend using drops of garlic and onion, since the ingredients of such a mixture can irritate the mucous membrane and increase unpleasant symptoms.
