Dismissed today, October 3, the military commissar of the Khabarovsk Territory, Colonel Yuri Laiko, was appointed on the same day to a similar position in the Magadan Region, the press service of the Eastern Military District told reporters. Appointment is justified by business necessity.

The duties of the military commissar of the Khabarovsk Territory will be Colonel Vyacheslav Makarov, transferred from the post of chief of staff of a motorized rifle unit (deployed in this region).

Head of the region Mikhail Degtyarev today announced about the removal of the military commissar. During the past week, cases of conscription of a patient with schizophrenia, as well as a man who raised a disabled daughter alone, received publicity in the region. According to Mr. Degtyarev, all mistakes are being corrected – about half of those called up as part of partial mobilization were sent home due to a mismatch with the categories indicated by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The post of military commissar of Kolyma has been vacant since August. On September 27, at the suggestion of the governor of the region, Sergei Nosov, Yevgeny Derkach was dismissed from the post of acting military commissar for similar violations. On the eve of the dismissal of the military commissar, the governor, the ombudsman for human rights and members of the regional branch of the ONF announced many mistakes during partial mobilization.
