Captain 1st rank appreciated the panic in the West due to the tests of the nuclear “Poseidon”

Panic in the West Foreign media, at the suggestion of the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, are promoting information that NATO intelligence has sent European allies data on the movements of the newest Russian submarine Belgorod, the carrier of Poseidon underwater unmanned nuclear vehicles.

It follows from the intelligence that Belgorod is preparing for trials in the Kara Sea. La Repubblica recalls that Poseidon can raise a radioactive tsunami of such power that it can completely demolish part of the US coast along with New York or Los Angeles, and leave a deserted island in place of Britain.

The Poseidon nuclear underwater unmanned vehicle is capable of covering distances of tens of thousands of kilometers at a speed of over 100 km per hour. Moreover, it is absolutely silent and almost without emitting heat, which is why it is almost impossible to detect. Neither enemy submarines nor space spy satellites can see it. This is a weapon against which NATO has no defense.

Multi-purpose nuclear submarine “Belgorod” (similar to “Kursk”) project 949A “Antey” was specially modified as a carrier of “Poseidons”. She was launched in 2019. As a regular carrier of nuclear torpedo monsters, the Khabarovsk submarine is being built, the characteristics of which are especially secret.

The Poseidon apparatus itself is considered a weapon of retaliation. Or, as they say, “Doomsday” or “Apocalypse”. It can be launched automatically at the moment when the warring countries have already exchanged strikes using strategic nuclear missiles.

For the first time, Vladimir Putin announced the development of an underwater vehicle with a nuclear power plant in 2018 in a message to the Federal Assembly. Then he said that this drone can carry both conventional and nuclear weapons, which will allow it to work on aircraft carrier strike groups, as well as on coastal infrastructure and fortifications.

The West did not believe Putin then, calling it all fairy tales, and the presented pictures – drawn cartoons. And now these “fairy tales” give rise to panic among Europeans. Especially now, after the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, when many now expect responses from the “evil Russians” in the depths of the sea, and everything that is done by the military at the bottom of the oceans attracts the closest attention.

– In vain, the Western media are inflating panic about the impending tests of the Poseidon, – considers a military expert, captain 1st rank in the reserve Vladimir Gundarov. – Explosions on the gas pipeline and the release of the submarine “Belgorod” into the sea – this is pure coincidence. The exercises in which Belgorod should take part are planned. There is nothing special here: the Belgorod submarine has been launched. Poseidon is done. It is necessary to experience all this – the usual work.

– In what equipment is it planned to test this device?

– Of course, not in nuclear. This will be a mass-size blank that imitates a warhead in order to once again check and understand how this device will behave under water during tests. All these planned activities are a combination of testing and combat training.

– Surely this will be a whole operation carried out by the Northern Fleet, if it causes such close attention of the Americans?

– October is the end of the academic year, summing up the work, passing coursework … From the point of view of the weather, it’s not the best time, it’s not very conducive to somehow comfortably “ride” the sea back and forth. The storms are already starting. But nothing can be done: in any case, it is necessary to sum up the results before November.

Usually at this very time, planned combat exercises are held with a large number of ships and submarines going to sea. During such exits, the operational formations of the fleet are coordinated. That is, when the ships are not working out combat missions alone, but already as part of ship combat groups. They perform various combat exercises: torpedo and artillery firing, missile launches … So the Belgorod submarine will definitely not be alone there.

– In addition to everything, apparently, aviation, space reconnaissance will be involved?

– Well, of course, if the main focus of the exercise will be on monitoring the behavior of “Poseidon” in a real environment, the ability to control, as well as further study of tactical capabilities.

– So why did NATO raise a panic about this?

– One cannot say that NATO experts have raised a panic about this. Rather, it is raised by the media – they need to serve something hot. And in NATO, intelligence simply reported to the command about such tests. NATO intelligence is doing very well. Most likely, they did this because they already know both the combat training plan and the dates for the ships to go to sea. They keep a close eye on it all. Of course, they are very interested to see how we will act, how our new weapons will behave.

So this is not a panic at all, but rather NATO’s heightened curiosity about new Russian weapons. Well, in this situation, it’s even good. Let them watch and draw the right conclusions.
