In the fall of 2023, “Khimik” from Dzerzhinsk became the best team in group No. 2 of the Second League “B”. For the first time in a long time, the black-greens were able to achieve success on the all-Russian arena. “Khimik” became the champion in the Second League “B” and received a promotion, ensuring a transition to a higher level. During the summer-autumn part of the 2023-2024 season, Khimik suffered only 1 defeat, losing in an away match against the backup team of Zenit, the main competitor.
After the final match of the first part of the 2023-2024 season, the Khimik players went on vacation and trained individually. Some players went home, while others spent their holidays at resorts. Very soon, “Khimik” will return from vacation and begin preparations for the spring part of the 2023-2024 season, where the black-and-greens will play in the Second League “A” and face stronger opponents from different parts of Russia.
Director of FC Khimik Andrey Kuvaev spoke about the team’s first training camp.
“As for the first training camp, it will be, let’s say, engaging: the coaching staff needs to see which of the players will arrive at the team’s location in what condition, who will be overweight. Preparations for the Crimean training camp will begin at Izumrudny, during which Three control matches are planned,” Andrey said.
