Now she will be sentenced

On the second attempt, the court returned a guilty verdict against the director of the private school, Vasilisa Maslova. She was accused of organizing the contract murder of the wife of municipal deputy Mikheil Khananashvili, with whom she had an intimate relationship. The first trial ended with the acquittal of the accused.

As MK reported at the time, Maslova was suspected of organizing a murder motivated by jealousy. In January 2020, two of her former students, a man and a woman, ambushed the wife of a deputy and stabbed the victim multiple times. Doctors managed to save her. Two perpetrators of the crime were convicted, but Maslova was acquitted by the jury. This decision was appealed by the prosecutor’s office.

As Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, reported, the case was sent for a new trial, as a result of which the jury returned a guilty verdict against the defendants. Based on the verdict, the court will decide the sentence.
