Former UN Deputy Secretary General Sergei Ordzhonikidze commented on the idea of Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev to suspend diplomatic relations with the European Union. He voiced his position on air with Radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
“I think this is an unreasonable proposal. So, you know, it’s always easier to break than to restore,” the expert believes.
The diplomat said that diplomatic relations should not be suspended, but only the diplomatic presence in the countries of the European Union should be reduced. According to him, if Germany wants to confiscate the cars of Russians, then there is no need to go there.
At the same time, Ordzhonikidze emphasized that formal relations between Russia and the EU still need to be preserved, but reduced to a minimum.
