After a scandal with contract soldiers, Krasnoyarsk deputy Dyukov briefly went to the Northern Military District zone

Deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council Vyacheslav Dyukov, who found himself at the center of a scandal after harsh statements against citizens entering into contracts with the army, visited the North Military District zone on a short business trip. According to the people’s representative, he managed to complete all the tasks in the shortest possible time.

Local edition ngs24.ru drew attention to the deputy’s post on the social network. In it, he stated that he had been preparing a humanitarian mission since January, and had now returned home, since “all the assigned tasks <...> completed.” The deputy also emphasized that this is “another” trip to the North Military District zone.

As I wrote “MK in Krasnoyarsk”, in mid-February, Dyukov stated at a commission meeting that “over the past year, the contract soldiers have been mostly alcoholics, homeless people, whippersnappers, prisoners, and so on.” He later apologized for his words and explained that he spoke about the need for patriotic motivation, but expressed himself incorrectly. A few days later, the deputy announced that he had asked the speaker of the local parliament to relieve him of his powers in connection with his departure to the Northern Military District and at the end of the month he announced his departure.
