The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Vladimir Burmatov, expressed the opinion that families in the Russian Federation should have a pet before the birth of a child. This is reported by “Gazeta.ru”.
“It seems to me that it is organic when a family already has animals at the moment when children appear,” admitted Burmatov.
The deputy noted that even before the baby is born, the pet must already be present in the house so that the baby can witness this from the very beginning. He clarified that for parents, the hassle associated with animals should become commonplace, so that after the birth of a child, having a pet is already a kind of given.
At the same time, if parents think about an animal after the child is born, then the right decision would be to wait until the child is at least three years old.
