Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov said he did not talk “neither today nor yesterday” with the head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children Nina Ostanina (KPRF) about delays from mobilization. Earlier today, October 26, Mrs. Ostanina informed about a telephone conversation with Mr. Pankov about this.
“There was no conversation with Nina Ostanina, deputy of the State Duma from the Communist Party faction, either today or yesterday,” Nikolai Pankov told reporters (quoted from “RIA News”).
Nina Ostanina in her Telegram channel said that fathers of disabled children, as well as those with two children and a pregnant wife, if the period is more than 22 weeks, are exempted from conscription as part of partial mobilization. Ms. Ostanina clarified that she had “just phoned” Nikolai Pankov, and during the conversation, the changes were accepted into the directive of the General Staff. At the same time, according to her, in return they were asked not to insist on the adoption of these amendments to the law until the end of the special operation.
As part of the partial mobilization announced on September 21, men were given a deferment if they had four or more children. In mid-October, the Ministry of Defense made corresponding changes, according to which fathers of three or more children under the age of 16 are subject to a deferment.
