The death toll in the strike on Belgorod has risen to seven – Kommersant

The number of deaths as a result of a missile strike by the Ukrainian armed forces in the center of Belgorod has increased to seven, the number of victims to 18, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Health reported.

“As a result of the shelling, seven people, including one child, were killed. 18 people, including four children, were injured. Four of them received assistance on an outpatient basis, 14 people were hospitalized in a state of varying severity,” the press service of the Ministry of Health reported (quoted from TASS).

Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said in Telegram channelthat the seventh victim of the attack was 80-year-old Lyudmila Aleksandrovna. The head of the region expressed condolences to the woman’s family and friends.

Mr. Gladkov clarified that two adults and two children will be transported by train to Moscow for treatment. According to him, an eight-year-old boy has a fractured hip and shrapnel wounds to the face, and a seven-year-old girl has a penetrating wound to the abdominal cavity, a concussion and a shrapnel wound to the thigh. Two adults suffered limb injuries.

Strike on Belgorod was inflicted at approximately 12:30. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the city with an RM-70 Vampire multiple launch rocket system. 14 shells were destroyed over the region. A shopping center on Plekhanov Street, five high-rise buildings, five private houses, three business facilities, and 25 cars were significantly damaged.
