The waiting time for Schengen visas for citizens of the Russian Federation is more than a month. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
According to the association, the French consulate is so far the most neutral towards the Russians. The actual waiting time for the document was 3-4 weeks. As a rule, a visa is issued for 6 months or a year. Applications for multi-Schengen Spain are considered for 4-6 weeks, but most often the period increases. The Spaniards issue a visa for 3 months.
The Consulate of Italy considers the request for about 30 days, a visa is issued for 1-3 months, with a good history, you can get an annual Schengen; Greece – up to 10-14 days, and issues visas for the duration of the trip.
ATOR noted that a visa to Hungary could become an access to Europe. You can get to the consulate in the coming dates, and visas are issued after 2-2.5 weeks for the duration of the trip.
During the holidays, the number of employees of visa centers decreases, which means that it becomes difficult to book a temporary slot for submitting documents. Very rarely there is a window to the Spanish, French and Portuguese consulates. In the Moscow centers of Italy there are slots for up to 2 weeks, in the Greek – for 1-2 weeks in advance. There are also slots in the British center at the beginning of autumn. You will have to wait 1-2 months for the documents.
