The Czech Defense Minister called for the republic’s withdrawal from the UN

The UN supports terrorists and does not respect the right to self-defense, so the Czech Republic should leave the organization, Czech Defense Minister Jana Cernochová said on the social network X.
Three weeks ago, Chernokhova recalled, more than 1,400 people were killed as a result of an attack on Israel by the Palestinian group Hamas.
“And only 14 countries, including ours, spoke out against the unprecedented terrorist attack committed by Hamas terrorists, clearly and understandably! I’m ashamed of the UN. In my opinion, the Czech Republic has nothing to expect from an organization that supports terrorists and does not respect the fundamental right to self-defense. Let’s go out [из нее]”, she wrote.
UN General Assembly October 27 accepted a resolution put forward by Arab countries that calls for an immediate truce in the conflict zone between Israel and Palestine. 120 countries voted for the adoption of the document, four abstained, while 14 were against. Prior to this, on October 25, Russia and China voted against the resolution proposed by the United States to the UN Security Council. As the UN clarified earlier, the American version did not contain a call for a ceasefire.
The adopted resolution condemns violence against civilians on both sides, and also calls on the parties to the conflict to organize an immediate humanitarian truce, which will ultimately lead to a cessation of hostilities. In addition, the resolution contains a call to release illegally held prisoners, to comply with humanitarian law – not to attack peaceful civilian targets.
