Sentence passed on high-profile road accident on Svoboda Street
The Tushinsky Court of Moscow issued a verdict in the case of a high-profile accident that occurred last fall in the north-west of the capital. The accident killed a woman and her small child.
As MK reported at the time, the accident occurred on the evening of November 27 on Svoboda Street. A female driver, while driving a Kia Sportage car while intoxicated, collided with a tram going in the same direction. After that, the foreign car was thrown onto the sidewalk, where at that time there was a family of three. The woman was returning from the store with a 4-year-old girl and a one-year-old son. As a result, the mother and the boy died on the spot from their injuries.
The culprit of the accident was a resident of the Kaluga region Natalya Ukrainskaya. It turned out that in January she had already been in an accident, after which she owed a large sum of money to the second participant. Therefore, the Ukrainian formally sold the car, but actually continued to drive it.
The court sentenced the woman to 9 years in a penal colony with a ban on driving for 2 years and 10 months.
