An experiment to simulate a flight to the Moon has started at the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Five Russians and one representative of Belarus went on the longest annual expedition under the SIRIUS long-term isolation program, equivalent to a flight to the Moon or Mars in the ground-based experimental complex (GEC) of the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
365 days will pass for them away from their families. According to legend, the crew will reach the Moon, land, and perform basic operations on it.
Among the volunteer testers: crew commander Yuri Chebotarev (Russia), flight engineer Anzhelika Parfyonova (Russia), crew doctor Ksenia Orlova (Russia, resident of the state of Asgardia), researchers Olga Mastitskaya (Belarus), Ksenia Shishenina (Russia) and Rustam Zaripov (Russia) .
