The famous Soviet and Russian artist German Mazurin, the creator of the image of Uncle Styopa – the hero of the children’s works of the poet Sergei Mikhalkov – was hospitalized in Moscow in serious condition.
As it became known to MK, the 90-year-old artist was taken to the hospital on Monday night from his house on Malaya Dmitrovka Street. According to preliminary information, an elderly man fell in his apartment and hit his head hard. He has a severe concussion and a fracture of the base of his skull, and his condition is assessed as critical.
German Mazurin is an Honored Artist of the RSFSR, the author of illustrations for many children’s books, including The Old Man Hottabych, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and others.
